Description
- The Ainu Dragon -
Long time ago (2013~) I created this creature when I used to write a novel about hybrids and the different worlds that are protected by some demon guardians. Those guardians used to be normal hybrids, but after accumulating enough strength to create and develop a dimension by themselves, they became protectors. After a while, hybrids and humans started to live alongside one another (as inhabitants and wild creatures).
This dragon is inspired from the mythology of the Ainu tribes (people who used to live in the north of Japan). His former name is Kando-Koro, but those who know him well have the possibility to call him simply "Ainu". According also to the mythology and to my old story, he is a protector of the celestial regions and also of the inhabitants and hybrids down on earth. At the same time, in this dimension only winter rules due to the fact the ainu dragon does not bear normal temperature.
-------------------------------------------
This year I decided also to take the Inktober challenge for myself, and hopefully I will succeed to draw and post everyday.
At first glance, I admit that this looks like the watercolour technique. However, it's a mixed media because I used Derwent Inktense, fine liners and a little bit of gouache.
